As the voice of the cypress industry, the Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association (SCMA) is tasked with promoting cypress building products to consumers and design professionals alike. And while being a smaller group that represents a specialized species, the SCMA still packs some mighty marketing muscle. Here’s a brief look at the ongoing cypress promotion campaign.
One of the SCMA’s top priorities is producing informative content to influence consumers and their purchasing decisions. To do so, the SCMA frequently publishes editorial articles highlighting the latest trends in home design and featuring interviews with top design professionals on how and why they prefer working with cypress.
For example, the SCMA recently published two articles. The first, titled “Fabulous Furniture Upgrades for Your Home,” is a list-based article that delves into why solid wood furniture is a smart investment for homeowners. The other, titled “Add a Dash of Spice and Style to Your Kitchen,” explores why spicing up kitchens with stylish, timeless, and natural materials—like cypress—is a recipe for success.
And speaking of success, these two editorial pieces are just that. To date, the articles have secured 31 print placements and 2,000 online placements, reaching nearly 408 million potential readers—all for an investment of just over $8,000. Now that’s effective content.
