HMA Executive Vice President
So much to be excited about! Spring has sprung. COVID restrictions are easing in much of the country. NatCon ’21 is now a fond memory, and the HMA staff is back in the ‘burgh, gearing up for what’s next on HMA’s agenda. And it’s all good.
First off, if our April Mid-Month Update got lost in your spam folder, then you’ve most likely not heard about the addition to our staff. Please extend a hearty welcome to HMA’s newly appointed Marketing, Communications & Digital Content Director, Ian Faight. Touting a Marketing degree from Penn State University, along with 13 years of experience with Pittsburgh-based Public Relations firm, PUSH 7 (formerly Yearick-Millea), and the Pipitone Group, Ian brings a Millennial mind-set and unique skill set to the HMA. And, as he is quite familiar with the industry, I’m confident he will both augment our efforts and take them to the next level. Welcome Aboard!
Next, to the many inquiries regarding if/when there will be a Regional Meeting, the answer is “yes.” However, as COVID safety issues continue to limit the scope of certain activities, I’m working on a ‘virtual’ Spring/Summer Regional Event, so please keep a close watch on your email for date/time/location specifics. And, members and suppliers interested in being a Regional Event Sponsor, please call me - 412.215.9256 - to discuss available opportunities.
Lastly, representing the HMA, I continue my active involvement with the Real American Hardwood Coalition. As I hope you know, I’ve been with the Initiative since its inception. To date, much has been accomplished. Much more needs to be done. And many of you have questions.
To inform every hardwood industry stakeholder, RealAmericanHardwood.org, the Initiative’s website, is the go-to place for status updates, questions about how businesses and individuals can contribute to the effort, etc. I encourage you to visit the site. And should you have additional questions, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. Or call me. I’d be happy to speak with you, plus share why I truly believe this ‘course of action’ is our future
