The Color Palettes of 2021
As we head into the colorful months of 2020, several paint manufacturers, as well as color giant Pantone, have already announced their favorite hues for 2021. As you will see, creating a sense of comfort seems to be the overarching theme.
- Sherwin-Williams has announced Urbane Bronze as it 2021 Color of the Year. “Warm, sophisticated” and described as the “new neutral,” the dark bronze “is a comforting color, drawing from nature for a feeling of relaxation and serenity.”
- PPG, in its “first-ever Paint Color Palette of the Year, showcases natural hues that are comforting, compassionate and optimistic. The color trio, Transcend, Big Cypress and Misty Aqua, celebrates beauty of all kinds and relates to those who prioritize wellness in mind, body and spirit.”
- BEHR’s Color Trends 2021 Palette “is a curated selection of hues to create a desired mood that complements your style in any space.” From light warm neutrals to restorative blues and greens, the Palette offers 21 hues with the goal of elevating your comfort zone.
- And Pantone’s “color palette for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 - comprised of core hues equally comfortable as singular color statements, or as the foundation for a rich color narrative - highlights our desire for versatile, timeless color, encouraging creativity as well as pragmatism, and reflecting the changing mindset of today’s consumer who prioritizes value and longevity over color choices that are here today and gone tomorrow.”
